'The Trick Shot Guy'
On his 11th birthday, Paul’s mother, who had played golf for many years, bought him a set of clubs and his interest in the sport began. By 16 he was playing off scratch and within 12 months, had decided that his love for the game would inevitably turn this into his career. He turned professional at 18, qualifying as a PGA professional on his 20th birthday and became the assistant to the late Terry Murray at Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club. He was appointed to Head Professional at Weston-Super-Mare in 1990 and then moved to The Kendleshire GC in 1997 and later became the Director of Golf at The Players Club in Bristol in 2002. He now co-owns 'inPlay Golf', an indoor golf simulation facility based in Harbourside, a short walk from Bristol City Centre, which specialises in Golf Coaching, Corporate functions & Team Building events.
Throughout his career, Paul’s reputation within the long drive circles grew. He won 3 indoor National Championships, was twice awarded the title of British Long Drive Champion and on two occasions represented the UK in the World Long Drive Finals in Mesquite, Nevada, finally retiring from competitive long driving in 2005.
As well as his ability to drive the ball an incredibly long distance, Paul had always had a talent for entertaining crowds and whilst performing Long Drive exhibitions for Yonex, Paul’s own Golf Trick Show was born! He is a Former World Trick Shot Champion and many golfers have commented that Paul’s Golf Trick Show really has to be seen to be believed! His incredible ability to ‘wow’ a crowd has meant that a high percentage of his shows come from recommendations and repeat business, which is the best compliment you can give!
