Personal information that my website collects:

The ‘Paul Barrington’ website uses Google Analytics to track user interaction, which is usual with most websites. Google Analytics provide data to determine the number of people using my site, geographical location and tracks their journey through the website but none of this information personally identifies you to me.

 

Our website server:

My website is hosted through Wix who have confirmed that they are 100% committed to data protection.  Wix employ full-time security consultants, dedicated to the security of their customers’ information.  

 

The use of Cookies

Like most websites, the ‘Paul Barrington’ website uses cookies to collect information which, if you wish, can be disabled on your internet browser.  There are two types of cookies (both used on Wix sites):

 

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

 

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behaviour or user preferences for a specific site.

 

Couriers

If I send a poster to you to advertise my show, I will share your address information with the Royal Mail or a courier.

 

Website - newsletter/contact forms and email links

If you subscribe to my newsletter via my website, complete one of my ‘contact’ forms or click on an email link, the email address that you submit to me will be stored on my Wix website platform in the ‘Shout Out’ database which I may use for the occasional ‘show’ newsletter. 

 

I will also add these email addresses together with your email address if you contact me direct to a separate ‘show’ database that I have which is password protected and is only accessible by myself.

 

You can unsubscribe at any time from both databases by using the link at the bottom of the ‘shout out’ newsletter or by emailing me at paul@paulbarrington.com

 

Show bookings/enquires – contact details

I will ask for your email address and contact telephone number if you make an enquiry or a booking with me so that I can contact you ref the enquiry/booking. These numbers are not given to any third parties.

 

Why I collect your data 

I use the email addresses collected to send you an occasional newsletter so that I can keep you up-to-date with the services that I can provide you for your golf day/event. Your contact details are also required to proceed with any booking/enquiry.

 

Lawful basis for processing your data

Under the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) I am required to advise you under what Lawful basis that I process and hold your data.

 

Legitimate Interest – I will only use your data in a way that you would reasonably expect me to and which will have a minimal privacy impact on you.

 

Contract – my processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at the request of you to enter into a contract.
